The Wankinquoah Rod and Gun Club is holding its annual Tihonet Pond Fishing Derby on Sunday, June 2. 

The club has been running the derby for over 50 years. A.D. Makepeace Company has donated its property and partnered with the club to hold this year’s event. 

Held on the Massachusetts Free Fishing weekend, the proceeds from the derby are used to support the club’s junior associates program. The program fosters a love and respect for the outdoors, teaches the next generation the skills necessary to become responsible and ethical sportsmen and provides the youth with opportunities to grow as leaders. 

Wankinquoah Junior Associates membership is open to all youth ages 9-17 years of age.
