Families’ holidays brightened by ‘Shop with A Cop’

Dec 17, 2019

Many families may already have gifts under the tree for their children this Christmas but for some in Wareham they are unable to provide. That’s where members of the Wareham Police Association stepped in.

Every year, School Resource Officer Karl Baptiste spearheads “Shop with a Cop,” a special holiday shopping event for Wareham students.

About a dozen children paired up with Wareham police officers on Thursday to choose gifts for their families and themselves that they would otherwise not be able to afford. Each child could spend up to $100 worth of gifts at Walmart.

Prior to that Acting Chief John Walcek and other officers gathered for a pizza dinner hosted by BB’s Bar and Grill, 2424 Cranberry Hwy.
