WAREHAM FIRE DISTRICT

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

The Wareham Fire District, the Owner, invites sealed bids from Contractors for the removal and replacement of a steel reinforced concrete retaining wall, fencing, and guardrail located at the Wareham Fire District Headquarters, 273 Main Street, Wareham, Mass. The proposed project is depicted on plans entitled “Wareham Fire District Headquarters – Site Improvements” by G.A.F. Engineering, Inc. dated November 2, 2021. The Contractor shall furnish all materials, labor and equipment to perform all work shown on the plans consisting of, but not limited to demolition, removal of existing retaining walls, signs, fencing, installation of new steel reinforced poured in place concrete retaining walls, signs, fencing, guardrail, subdrain, restoring all disturbed areas to their existing state.

Bid documents, including details and specifications for the proposed work, may be downloaded online, on and after November 15, 2021. To obtain copies of the plans and specifications go to Public Jobs: Accent Blueprints Online Plan Room (https://www.accentblueprints.com/jobs/public. The project will be listed as “Wareham Fire District Headquarters – Site Improvements”. Downloading plans and specifications is free. There is a non-refundable $50.00 fee if mailing is required.

Bids not submitted on original bid forms shall be deemed non-responsive. Bid submissions must be made in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Wareham Fire District Headquarters – Site Improvements – 273 Main Street, Wareham, MA”. All Bids shall be submitted to the Wareham Fire District Administration Office, 315 Main Street, Wareham, MA 02571. Bids will be received until 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. At that time, the bids will be publicly opened and read. The Wareham Fire District assumes no liability for bids mistakenly opened due to improperly labeled envelopes and will return same to bidder without notice.

Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or treasurers check made payable to the Wareham Fire District. The amount of such bid security shall be five percent (5%) of the value of the bid. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days (not including Saturday, Sunday or Legal Holiday), after the date of opening thereof. Bids are subject to M.G.L. Ch. 149 Sections 44A-J and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. Ch. 149, Section 26 to 27D inclusive. The successful bidder must furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond. Selection of the Contractor will be based upon bidder qualifications, including evidence of past performance in similar projects and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the bidder deemed by the Awarding Authority to be the lowest responsible and eligible bidder.

Bidders are advised that a pre-bid conference will not be held. The right is reserved to waive any informalities in, or to reject any or all bids received and to award the contract to any of the Contractors bidding on the work.
