Middle school student’s design chosen for strategic plan logo

Middle school student Scott Crites' design was selected as the logo for the Wareham Public Schools’ 2026 strategic plan, out of 22 logos.

“Student voice is extremely important to our district,” assistant superintendent Dr. Andrea Schwamb said as she introduced Scott at Thursday night's School Committee meeting. “We needed students involved.”

Scott’s design features laurels, a graduation cap and a Roman column.

The sixth grade student said the design took him a few days to make.

School Committee members praised Scott for his work, and some asked if he had prior experience in art design.

“This is new to me,” Scott said. “I just really kind of thought of an idea in my head.”

Scott’s design will be used on the school district's 2026 Strategic Plan over the next five years.
