New Bedford man charged with counterfeit bill at Wareham McDonald’s

A 23-year-old New Bedford man is being charged with uttering a counterfeit note after allegedly using a fake bill at McDonald’s in Wareham.

Police said on Dec. 26 at about 5:30 p.m., Officer James White responded to McDonald’s for a report of a person trying to pass a counterfeit bill.

Police determined that a person at the restaurant had just received the bill from Brandon Stowell, who is being charged with uttering of a counterfeit note. Police said Stowell was not on the scene and is being summoned to court to answer to this charge.
