A breakfast fundraiser for a monument slated for outside the Massachusetts National Cemetery will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Wareham-New Bedford Lodge of Elks No. 73, located at 2855 Cranberry Highway.

Breakfast includes eggs and omelettes cooked to order, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, pancakes, juice and coffee. Proceeds will benefit the Elks pledged portion of the monument’s cost.

The Veteran’s Memorial Monument is to be erected at the entrance of the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Oct. 27. The nearby Otis Rotary will be renamed as "Hero's Circle".

The project is coordinated by Friends of Wareham Veterans Council, Inc. President Bob Powilatis and several other fraternal and military organizations including the Elks.
