WAREHAM- Shawn O’Brien, 58, of North Smithfield, RI and formerly Wareham, passed away on January 2, 2023. He was the beloved son of Leslie A. (Collins) O’Brien and the loving husband of Kathleen M. (Magee) O’Brien- a summer romance that never ended.

Shawn was born in Wareham and graduated from Wareham High School. He was a ramp agent for Southwest Airlines.

Shawn enjoyed sports of all kinds, traveling (favorite places are California, England, France, and anywhere new), food, and drinks. He was the life of the party and mostly loved spending time with family and his vast group of friends.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years (partners for 38 years) Kathleen O’Brien, his mother Leslie O’Brien, sister Beth Paling and her husband Rick, brothers Kevin O’Brien and Timothy O’Brien and his wife Ruhsan, as well as many nieces and nephews who he loved wholeheartedly, and many, many cousins who were like immediate family to him.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, January 9, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Church, 94 High St. Wareham, MA.
