Tracy S. “Whip” Snyder, 66, of Buzzards Bay, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford after a brief illness. He was the husband of Sharon R. (Westgate) Snyder.

Born in Lowville, NY, he was the son of the late Russell and Belva (Osborne) Snyder.  He attended Boards of Cooperative Education Services (BOCES) Technical School in New York.  He was also a member of Future Farmers of America.

A resident of Wareham since 1974, Mr. Snyder worked for Cape Cod Shipbuilding in Wareham for 40 years.  

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; his children, Tracy S. Snyder, Jr. and his wife Joni and Stacy Carroll and her husband Nathaniel all of Lowville, NY; his siblings, Cheryl Foote and her husband Dale of Glenfield, NY, Gary Snyder and his wife Wanda, and Mark Snyder all of Copenhagen, NY.  Also surviving are several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his brother, the late Francis Snyder.

Due to the current health crisis, funeral services and burial will be private.
