Nicholas N. Dix, a Wareham High School senior who placed among the top 50,000 scorers in the 2017 Preliminary SAT, was recognized on Friday, Sept. 21 by High School Principal Scott Palladino and the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Dix is now one of 34,000 students in the United States officially commended for his academic promise and scholastic achievement as a part of the program. He will receive a letter of commendation from both the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

A total of 1.6 million children entered the competition by taking the 2017 Preliminary SAT.
