The Gleason Family YMCA Shamrock Slam Pickleball Tournament

Our Shamrock Slam Preview Clinics are taking place January-March with the Shamrock Slam Tournament taking place on March 22nd. The Shamrock Slam Preview clinic introduces beginner & intermediate players to the rules, scoring, basics, technique, and strategy of Pickleball.  

Clinic Sessions started but we still have dates available:  Clinic #3- Sunday 2/9 1-3 pm;  Clinic #4- Sunday 2/23 1-3 pm;  Clinic #5 - Sunday 3/8 1-3 pm. There is a 12 participant maximum for clinics so pre-registration is recommended to guarantee a spot. Cost for Clinics: $25 pp per session for members/$35 pp per session for non-members. Sign up at the Welcome Center Desk to participate in one or more clinics, or to sign up for the tournament on March 22nd. 

The Shamrock Slam Tournament will be held on Sunday, March 22nd, 9 am-12 pm, with award ceremony at 12:30 pm. Bring your own paddle or the Y will provide paddles & balls. The format is fast format, round robin, multiple 5 minute preliminary matches, rotating partners/opponents. Each championship game will last 10 minutes, Umpires will call faults, points, and make all ruling determinations. Various awards will be given to top players overall and by age. Cost: $25 pp members, $35 pp non-members and registration can be done at the Welcome Center Desk. Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. We are hosting indoor pickleball at the Y during the winter for those interested in playing or learning how to play, with open court schedules on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday mornings, and Sunday’s in the late afternoon.
