The Gleason Family YMCA, 33 Charge Pond Rd., is putting kids first on Saturday, April 20 with “Healthy Kids Day.”

The free event, held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside and in the facility’s gym, is part of a “national initiative celebrated at Ys across the country to help inspire healthy habits in kids and families,” according to the Gleason Family YMCA. 

The event will have activities and information for the whole family including a K9 demo from Plymouth County Sherriff Department at 11 a.m., a pop-up market with Bootstrap Farm Club, dance demos, a meet and greet with the Wareham Police Department’s comfort pup and an inflatable obstacle course. 

There will also be information available about WIC, foster care, the Wareham Dog Park, and more. 

The event will also feature a donation drive for Walt’s Mobile Closet, a non-profit organization that partners with South Coast organizations to free clothing to people in need. It will accept kids clothing from sizes 4T up to youth 18/20. New, in-package kids underwear and socks will also be accepted. Baby clothes and winter coats will not be accepted.
