The South Coast of Massachusetts now has a Pottery and Ceramics studio for creators of all levels!

Ellen Blomgren and Theresa Hadley are thrilled to open Mudstone Studios in Wareham on the first of August.  We are located in the former Ocean Spray building on Cranberry Highway... or perhaps you can find us better if we tell you “Across from the old Bennys,”  or “in the back of the building with the Flea Market in it.”  Yes, that is it!  Our Ceramics studio is known as a Co-op style studio.  For starters, come by and see us and what we have to offer during any of the “Open Studio” hours:  Monday, 6-9 p.m., Wednesday 12-3 p.m., and Saturday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. On those days there is always someone there to take you on a tour, show you around, and tell you about the programs that we offer. 

We offer three ways for you to join us and become a ceramic artist:

Membership: Membership offers open access to the studio at any time of the day, so that you can create on your own schedule. 

Classes:  We try to schedule classes during hours that are most convenient for all to attend. Classes will include Wheel Throwing, Handbuilding, Sculpture, and Functional Pottery Handbuilding with specialty classes such as Gargoyles, Animals, Fairy Houses and many other sculptural pieces.

Open Studio 4 Visit Package:  If you are only ready to dip your toe in the water, you can purchase a 4 visit package for Open Studio hours, where there will be an artist there who can assist you in getting started on your creative venture.  

Ellen and Theresa are both Ceramic Artists, and Ellen currently has a Ceramics Exhibition of Garden Sculptures sprinkled all throughout the gardens at Blithewold Mansion  in Bristol, Rhode Island. Ellen also operates two additional Mudstone Studios locations in Warren and Pawtucket Rhode Island. Theresa has been a member there for 10 years, and a high school Art teacher for 20 years.
