Join the Friends of the Dartmouth Libraries on Tuesdays (January 23-February 27) from 11 a.m.-noon for the 33rd Annual Molly Little Film Series which will focus on the genius of Michelangelo.  Attendees will learn about the artist and some of his most important works in a series of video classes produced by The Great Courses and taught by Professor William E Wallace of Washington University in St. Louis.  The series will be presented in the Haskell Room at Southworth Library, 732 Dartmouth Street.

On six Tuesday mornings (starting January 23), participants will explore the following topics in two 30-minute videos during each session:  Who Was Michelangelo?/Artist and Aristocrat – Michelangelo’s World (January 23); An Unconventional Beginning/Michelangelo’s Youth and Early Training (January 30); The Bacchus and the Pieta/The Return to Florence and the David (February 6); The Sistine Chapel/The Sistine Chapel, Part 2 (February 20); The Sistine Chapel, Part 3/A Story of Marble (February 27); and Piety and Pity – The Florentine Pieta/The Rondanini Pieta and the Late Poetry (March 12).  Because of scheduling conflicts, the programs on February 13 and March 5 have been moved a week ahead.  Snow day will be March 19.
