April Vacation Week Adventures at the Lloyd Center for the Environment, April 20-23

Apr 12, 2021

Cheerful sounds delight the Lloyd Center for the Environment grounds this spring as life returns! Migrant birds (returning to their summer home) sing from the tree tops and chipmunks (out of hibernation) rustle leaves as they busily forage for food and happily play on the forest floor. But this spring a much longed-for familiar sound will grace us once again - the sound of children’s voices! We are excited to announce April Vacation Week returns to the Lloyd Center!

Spring brings new life and opportunities and we are grateful for the ability to once again offer an adventure-filled week of experiments, hands-on activities, and exploratory trail walks!

Safety remains our top priority. This year’s program will look a little different from the past. Our outdoor classroom, smaller pod, mask-wearing, social distancing, consistent hand washing, and thorough cleaning, are all procedures put in place to keep students safe. However, our underlining principle remains the same - to educate and immerse students in the natural world while having fun!

The Lloyd Center’s April Vacation Week provides the opportunity for students to remove themselves from the screen and allow nature to enlighten their senses. Our program will provide four days of discovery. Weather experiments, identifying spring happenings in the forest, celebrating Earth Day, and estuary expeditions, are the themes that highlight the week.

We eagerly await the joyous sound of children’s voices! And are thankful that spring has allowed us to move forward and invite us to be a part of its musical tune.
