BIRDS OF PREY at the LIBRARY
Event has passed
The Friends of the Wareham Free Library are pleased to bring WINGMASTERS Birds of Prey to the Wareham Free Library on Thursday, February 23rd at 1pm.
This free program is recommended for ages 6 and up.
Birds of prey, also known as raptors, include hawks, owls, eagles, and falcons. This presentation includes 5 to 6 live birds of prey, all native to New England and gives an overview of these different categories. Because many birds of prey are declining in number, this show also features one or more of the endangered raptors that WINGMASTERS cares for and explains why these species face an uncertain future.
Wingmasters is a partnership of two people dedicated to increasing public understanding and appreciation of North American birds of prey. They are licensed to rehabilitate and provide a home for non-releasable raptors. They use these birds for educational programs and since 1994 they have presented over 10,000 programs throughout New England.
