Gleason Family YMCA Hosts Free Community Halloween Costume Swap

An eco-friendly and budget-friendly way to celebrate Halloween

The Gleason Family YMCA is inviting the community to get into the Halloween spirit without the scary price tag! Join us for a Free Community Halloween Costume Swap on Saturday, October 11th from 9:30am to 2om at the Gleason Family YMCA, 33 Charge Pond Rd., Wareham. Families are encouraged to bring gently used Halloween costumes of all sizes—infant through adult—and swap them for “new-to-you” costumes. This event is designed to help families save money, reduce waste, and ensure every child has the chance to dress up and enjoy the holiday.

Recycle your clean and gently used adult and child Halloween costumes and accessories with the Y during normal business hours, and the you can come back to pick out a “new” one on swap day. A bin to drop off your costumes will be setup in the lobby, or you can leave them with the Welcome Center staff. This event is open to everyone and is not a strict exchange—you don’t have to donate to take a costume, but donations are encouraged to keep the swap well stocked. We rely on early community donations to make this event a success.

Even if you don’t want to swap, you might want to off-load some unwanted, but still fun & fabulous, costumes your kids have outgrown, and we’ll take those too! Help us create a sustainable Halloween and bring your costumes to this community Halloween Costume Swap at the Y today!  

Broken, ripped, or stained items will not be accepted. Please ensure items are in good condition (no broken zippers, mildew, or strong odors; intentional tears are okay). Accessories in good shape are welcome too!
