Learn tips and tricks for knives and knots
The Sippican Historical Society invites you to their Memorial Garden on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 10 a.m. Roger Galipeau will share his knowledge on the art of knife sharpening and the intricacies of tying marine knots at this free gathering.
Participants will watch demonstrations and also gain hands-on experience. Attendees are encouraged to bring along one knife that needs sharpening to make the most of this practical and engaging session. From learning the basics of achieving a fine edge to mastering essential maritime knots, this event promises to equip you with timeless skills that are as functional as they are fascinating.
“SHS hopes to preserve and share practical knowledge that we've used for generations,” Executive Director Alanna Nelson shared. “Roger is a great teacher. Everyone who's participated in previous years appreciate this chance to connect with our past and pick up skills that are valuable today.”
