SCCMS Concerts This Weekend!

Jun 2, 2022

The South Coast Chamber Music Series (SCCMS) presents “Solace”, a weekend of music featuring three fantastic voyages! Josef Haydn’s witty and wise String Quartet Op. 33 No. 4 opens our concert with his signature panache. Leo Eguchi next takes us far away with Reena Esmail's evocative and virtuosic "Juhla Juhle." Edward Elgar’s valedictory Piano Quintet, composed in the aftermath of the First World War, reminds us that music so often springs from desolation, and therein lies great solace.

On Saturday, June 4, the Chamber Music season finale will take place in Marion at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church (124 Front Street). On Sunday, June 5, the venue is in South Dartmouth at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (351 Elm Street). Both concerts begin at 4:00 pm. Tickets are $20 and must be purchased in advance at https://nbsymphony.org/chamber-series-2021-2022/. Please check the website for current COVID 19 safety policies.

This SCCMS weekend features NBSO musicians Ethan Wood, violin; EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks, violin; Christopher Nunn, viola; Leo Eguchi, cello; as well as SCCMS Artistic Director Janice Weber, piano.
