The Cape Cod Baseball League’s Centennial season is now underway as the finest college baseball players in the country are showcasing their talent on a nightly basis. Last year 377 former Cape League players played on Major League Baseball teams. The Wareham Gatemen have a number of special events upcoming for this exciting season as well, and hope to see everyone come out to Spillane Field located in Wareham to join in the excitement, admission is always free and the enjoyment priceless.

Our most recent upcoming event will be on July 4th as the Gatemen celebrate our nation’s independence with a highly anticipated matchup against our local rivals the Bourne Braves at Spillane Field starting at 6 PM! The Gatemen have a wide range of events throughout the month of July as well, including on July 7th, which marks 100 years since the first Official Cape Cod League Baseball game was played. The Gatemen will celebrate this historic moment in Cape Cod Baseball with a home game against the Brewster Whitecaps. Concessions will feature a free hot dog with the purchase of a drink for the first 200 customers as well as other special events, you don’t want to miss out on this amazing deal!

July 20th the Wareham Gatemen will set shore against the Falmouth Commodores at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay. Come and see great baseball under the bridge with the first pitch going out at 6pm!

July 30th and July 31st we will have back to back exciting games for the Gatemen!, as first responders night begins with Gatemen honoring our local heroes, the first responders prior to the 6pm start time against Cotuit on the night of July 30th. July 31st the Gatemen will close out the month with a special contest against the Bourne Braves at Polar Park in Worcester! This exciting matchup will be played on the home field of the WooSox, AAA affiliate of the Boston Red Sox where the first pitch will be thrown out at 6:45 P.M.
