100 days, 100 cans

Some might collect 100 pencils, or thank their parents 100 times.
For a kindergartener, that would be more than enough to complete a project celebrating their 100th day of school.
But Decas Elementary School kindergartener Miakya Moore decided to do something extra for her community, and she and her family collected and donated 100 cans of food for Turning Point, a resource agency in Wareham for the homeless and near homeless.
"We're very very grateful," said Turning Point President Marcine Fernandes, "It was great... [to see children] help this community at such an early age."
Moore also received a letter from Fernandes and Turning Point thanking her for helping the homeless and needy in Wareham.
