11th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride set for Oct. 1
Registration is now open for the 11th annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride, set for Oct. 1. Register online at: www.savebuzzardsbay.org/ride.
More than 150 cyclists participate in the ride each year, pedaling across the region to raise funds to protect clean water.
The ride features a lunch stop, water and snack stations along the course and on-the-road repair technicians available at call.
Riders can choose from one of three distances: a 35-mile route that begins in Rochester, a 75-mile route that begins in Westport or a 100-mile “century ride” around the entirety of Buzzards Bay starting from Sakonnet Point, Rhode Island. All three routes end in Woods Hole with a finish line dinner and awards ceremony for the top fundraisers, largest teams and best team outfits.
Cyclists ages 12 and over are welcome to sign up. Many riders also form teams with their friends and families. Each rider raises a minimum of $300, and prizes go to riders and teams that achieve the highest fundraising totals.
