A.D. Makepeace to hold free Cranberry Blossom Tour

Jun 18, 2012

The A.D. Makepeace Company is offering guests the chance to tour their bogs, the largest cranberry operation in the world, and see cranberry flowers in full bloom on Saturday, June 23 at 10 a.m.

The Blossom Tour will depart from Tihonet Village at 146 Tihonet Road in Wareham and will last approximately 1 hour and a half.

Guests will be transported by bus and the tour will be held rain or shine (extreme weather may postpone the tour however).

Participants can register online at www.tihonet.com or by calling 508-322-4028.

An experienced grower will explain how the cranberry got its name, the importance of bee pollination, and will describe what occurs on the bogs during each season.

Participants are encouraged to bring their cameras and their questions!
