Adam Jamieson, 86
Adam C. Jamieson, 86, of Wareham, passed away at home on April 29 after a long illness. He was the husband of Phyllis M. (Combes) Jamieson and the son of the late Adam R. and Mary (French) Jamieson.
He was born in Medford on Sept. 28, 1930 and was stationed in Buffalo, New York before moving to Wareham in 1972.
Adam retired after 22 years serving in the U.S. Navy and then in the U.S. Coast Guard, retiring as a Boatswain’s Mate Chief. He was a Vietnam War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis M. (Combes) Jamieson; two sons, John Jamieson and his wife, Nattiya of King George, Virginia and Charles Jamieson of Wareham; a daughter, Linda McKiernan and her husband James of Wareham; his grandchildren, Jennifer McKiernan and her fiancé Shane Bither, Matthew Jamieson, Jamie McKiernan and her husband, Raymond O’Hare, Timothy McKiernan and Michael Mahoney and his wife Nicole and their son, Seamus; a sister, Stacia Grant and her husband, Richard of Billerica; a brother, Raymond Jamieson and his wife, Doris of Billerica; two brothers-in-law, Jack Kelleher of Billerica and John Babcock of Tewksbury; many nephews and nieces. He was the brother of the late Pauline MacDonald, Barbara Kelleher, Shirley Babcock, Margaret Jamieson, Austin Jamieson, and Lawrence Jamieson.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Friday, May 5, at St. Patrick’s Church ,82 High St., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Visiting hours are from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.
