Alexander Monty

Dec 16, 2018

Alexander Jesse Monty passed away on Nov. 25 in Vancouver, Washington. He was the son of Ruth Monty of Wareham, and Michael Monty of Dartmouth, and the brother of Zachary Monty. Besides his parents and brother, he leaves behind his maternal grandparents Helen and Jesse Fisher of Fairhaven, his paternal grandmother Jeanette Lockwood of Marion, and his godparents Jessica and Mark Newman of Fairhaven. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Alex was born and raised in Wareham and was a graduate of Wareham High School and attended Bristol Community College. He worked in many area restaurants as a cook, but eventually became a security officer with Securitas. He moved to Vancouver in 2017 to work as a security officer, and dedicated his life to being an advocate for social justice to protect and to help those he loved, and those who were in need.

He was a talented musician, having been selected twice to sing in the All Cape Festival Chorus, and as the lead in a school production of The Pirates of Penzance. He was happiest when he got together with his family for dinner, cooking up something special to eat, playing his guitar, and singing in his bands with his friends. He also enjoyed hiking with his friends and his dog Riza, and chatting over a firepit.

Funeral Services will be private. Check with his family and friends for times and locations.
