Alice M. (Pires) Texiera, 92, of Wareham passed away Saturday, July 5, at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late John “Pidge” Texiera, Jr. and the daughter of the late Peter and Elmira (Gagnon) Pires.

She was born and raised in Wareham and graduated from Wareham High School in 1941.

Mrs. Texiera was a devoted parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham, enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking and caring for her family and spending winters in California with her daughter.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Texiera of Fall River, Brenda Clockadile of Lakeville, Steven Texiera of Wareham and Jean Morais of Alameda, CA; four grandchildren, Crystal Ng, Dana Texiera, Corey Draffen and Erickson Morais and three great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Doris Pennington of W. Wareham. She was also sister to the late Armand, Lucien, Wilfred, William, Maurice and Roland Pires, Molly Bearse, Mary Andrade and Matilda Rose.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Friday, July 11th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
