Alice (Silva) Rocha, 89, of West Wareham, died Wednesday, March 18 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the wife of the late John Rocha.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Manuel R. and Marion (Pereira) Silva. Mrs. Rocha worked as an assembler for Aerovox in New Bedford, a screener for L.B. Handy and as a private home health aide.

She is survived by her brother, Manuel B. Silva of Westminster, California; her nieces and nephews, Ann Andrade, Gerri Baptiste, Carolyn Roderick, Priscilla Peluso, Joyce Veiga, Barry Silva, Eleanor Leonard, Jack Silva, Cheryl Tanzi, Richard Silva, Stephan Silva, Laurie Wallace, Debra Foxx, John Pires, Jr., Mary Grace, Laura Pires-Hestor, Alan Silva, David Silva and Wendy Feeney; and her late husband’s niece, Carlotta Baptista and her daughter, Maria Lomba. She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews and great, great- nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rocha was predeceased by her siblings, the late Adeline Pires, John Silva, Antone Silva and Caroline Silva and her niece and nephews, the late Betsey Cardoza, Edward J. Pires, Carey Silva, Anthony Silva, Paul Silva and John T. Silva.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Mon., March 23, 2015 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
