Emily Peltola smiled as she walked into the newly opened All-American Assisted Living facility on Saturday afternoon. Before her were two men in tuxedos, offering champagne.

“I did not expect this!” she said.

“The rose petals just blew away,” joked Seth Dudley, the company’s vice president of sales marketing and one of the tuxedoed gentlemen.

Peltola and a few others received a lavish greeting as the first residents to move into the new, 54,000-square-foot building. Located at Rosebrook Place, the facility has rooms for 112 residents and several amenities, such as a restaurant-style dining, activity room and media rooms, and a variety of wellness programs.

For Peltola, Saturday also served as a homecoming of sorts.

“She was born and raised in Wareham,” said Peltola’s niece Carol Pierce. “She moved to Providence in her 20s, but she’s back home now.”

Pierce said when it wasn’t practical for Peltola to live on her own any longer, they began searching for an assisted living facility. Because of All-American's amenities and location, which is minutes from Pierce’s West Wareham home, it was the easy choice.

“This is a beautiful building,” said Peltola.

Pierce said her aunt, whose family has deep cranberry ties, is also looking forward to the harvest season. Her window overlooks an expanse of bogs located behind the building.

“There’s cranberries in her blood,” said Pierce, saying Peltola’s father and uncle both owned bogs in the area.

Following the formal greetings, which were doled out by All-American’s Vice President of Operations Michael Hall, Dudley and other staff members, the residents enjoyed lunch in the building’s impressive dining room.

Executive Director Christine Smith said by the end of May, 30 residents are expected to have moved in.

She said the staff is looking forward to getting acquainted with them and that Wareham has received the business with open arms.

“We’re thrilled to become a part of the community,” said Smith.

The starting price for one bedroom in a two-bedroom companion suite is $3,900 per month. At the Rose Lane Memory Unit, the starting price per month is $5,600. Services include self-administered medication management, 24-hour personal care staff, three meals per day, weekly laundry service, daily and weekly housekeeping, and transportation to local medical care and outside shopping centers.
