ALOHA: Farewell and Hello

Sep 30, 2014

“So many things are possible just as long as you don’t know they are impossible” Norton Juster, The Phantom Tollbooth.

This past Sunday, the First Congregational Church of Wareham, said farewell to their long time interim minister, Reverend Dr. Stan G. Duncan.  With great gratitude (and tears) the parishioners thanked Reverend Duncan for his journey with them over the past three years as their pastor and teacher and friend.

Because the candle of faith is lit and will remain lit, the same service welcomed the Reverend Katherine Schofield as the settled minister of the Church.  Reverend Schofield is originally from Dennis, Massachusetts.  She has a B.A. in Religious Studies from Hamilton College.  She continued her education at the Chicago Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL.  After being engaged in urban ministries in Chicago, Reverend Schofield became the Minister for Campus Engagement at the United University Church based at the University of Southern California.  The Reverend Schofield and her family plan to live in the Wareham community.    The First Congregational Church of Wareham, looks forward to continuing its journey with Reverend Schofield.
