Anna M. (Silva) Andrade, 94, died Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the widow of the late Avelino Andrade.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin M. & Mary (Lomba) Silva. Mrs. Andrade was employed as a machine operator at Aerovox in New Bedford for 20 years and retired in 1972. She also worked as a nurses’ aide at Cape Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay and worked as a picker for area cranberry growers.

She is survived by her nieces, Sylvia Andrews of Wareham, Catherine Silva of RI; her nephews, Walter Silva, Jr. of Wareham and Samuel Nunes of New Bedford; her great-niece, Denise McDowell whom she lived with for 25 years, and several other great-nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Walter Silva and the aunt of the late MaryAnn Figueroa and the late Manuel Silva.

Her funeral was held June 28. A Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church followed. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
