Annual Christmas dinner a success thanks to many volunteers

To the Editor:

Sending out a huge heartfelt thank you message to the Wareham community!

The Third Annual Christmas Dinner that was held on Dec. 23 for veterans, senior citizens and people in need was indeed the best one yet! Thanks to so many volunteers, the Dudley L. Brown Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Onset was beautifully decorated. Christmas music lifted the spirits of many. We were able to serve a most delicious Christmas turkey dinner with all of the fixings, and dessert too.

Our many guests in attendance were also given the opportunity to take home donated can goods, nonperishable foods, caps, gloves, mittens, clothing, as well as mini take home packages filled with personal goodies.

We couldn’t have accomplished such a successful feat without the assistance of so many wonderful human beings and extraordinary giving organizations. We would like to take a moment to thank the following organizations, businesses and individuals for their donations of food, monies, and personal time: Bridgewater State University, The Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional Transit Authority, The Gateway Tavern, Premier Foods of Buzzards Bay, anonymous sponsors, The Wareham Boys & Girls Club, Massachusetts District Court employees, Greater New Bedford Community Health Center-Wareham, Home Depot, DJ Lady K, Selectman Patrick Tropeano and all of the many individuals across the Onset, Wareham and Bourne communities who volunteered their personal time.

With much appreciation and our most heartfelt gratitude: THANK YOU
