Annual Christmas parade marches down Main Street

Dec 6, 2015

Trucks festooned with sparkling wreaths, cutouts of peppermint candies, and other holiday decorations rolled down Main Street, during the Wareham Village Association’s annual Christmas parade Saturday afternoon.

The parade, which lasted about an hour, went from Besse Park to the Town Green. Association President Bob Brady said he didn’t know how many marchers there were, but that there were between 40 and 50 participants, each with their own little cadre of marchers or float riders.

Brady said the parade was not a moneymaker by any means – it was free to watch and free to march – but that it is a good event to bring the community together.

“The whole idea is to bring the community together to have a festive gathering for the holiday season, and it works out pretty well,” Brady said. “We want to keep the smiles on the children’s faces this time of year.

The Wareham Village Association will hold its annual train ride Dec. 15. For more information, visit warehamvillage.org.
