Art Association to hold sale
The Bourne Wareham Art Association (BWAA) will hold its first-ever art sale featuring more than 20 paintings from their permanent collection. The sale will be held on Sunday, June 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Galley 333 Fine Arts, in North Falmouth. Proceeds will benefit the organization's annual scholarship fund which awards high-school graduates who are pursuing the arts in college.
According to BWAA President Betty Beaulieu, the group has simply run out of storage space for paintings, which have accumulated from over fifty years of hosting artists to come and demonstrate unique methods of producing art. Often these guests would donate works to the organization, which was formed in 1963 to promote appreciation of the fine arts in the Cape Cod Canal area.
"Instead of trying to find a place to store them, we decided to sell them and use the money for the scholarship fund," said Beaulieu.
The show features paintings by Martin Ahearn, Jacqueline Andes, Kate Whitman Arsenault, Robert Bradshaw, Jane Brown, Betty Dunlop, Phyllis Ginny, Diana Lee, Jane Lincoln, Anthony Milici, Charles Movalli, Bruce Turner, Andrea York and Joyce Zavorskas.
Members will be present at Gallery 333 during the sale to provide more information about the paintings and the Bourne Wareham Art Association.
Gallery 333 is located at 333 Old Main Rd., North Falmouth, one block north of North Falmouth village.
