Auditions for 'Hedda Gabler' to begin Thursday, Jan. 12

Buzzards Play Productions is holding auditions for the classic play, Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler. This drama is a character study of dysfunction.

Auditions will be held at the theatre located at 3065 Cranberry Highway.

Audition dates are:

  • Thursday, Jan. 126 to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 1512 to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, Jan. 196 to 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Jan. 2212 to 3 p.m.

Roles are:

  • Hedda Gabler (ages 25-40) - intelligent, unpredictable, manipulative and somewhat dishonest
  • George Tesman (ages 30-40) - amiable, intelligent and scholarly
  • Aunt Julia Tesman (ages 40-60) - amiable and caring
  • Bert, a servant (ages 40-60) - tries hard to please
  • Thea Elvsted (ages 20-30) - humble yet passionate
  • Judge Brack (ages 40-50) - worldly and cynical
  • Eilert Lovberg (ages 20-30) - a recovering alcoholic, a genius

Hedda Gabler will be directed by Santiago Gonzalez who has been active in the local theatre scene for the past 30 years. Rehearsals begin Jan. 24 and performances will be held the last two week-ends in April.
