Bay Pointe to reopen April 13, Selectmen approve liquor license change
The Bay Pointe Club golf course will reopen on April 13, with the club's new restaurant opening at a later date.
Bay Pointe manager Sean Crump updated the Board of Selectmen about the club's plans on Tuesday. New owner Bay Pointe Club LLC has been renovating the property -- now called Bay Pointe Club, rather than Bay Pointe Country Club -- since acquiring it in February from Digital Federal Credit Union following a foreclosure.
Crump appeared before the Selectmen looking for a transfer of the club's liquor license from Digital Federal Credit Union to the new owner. The Selectmen approved that change, along with licenses for dancing and live entertainment on weekdays and on Sunday.
The liquor license will be for the "Golf Clubhouse," where a restaurant will be established. The clubhouse is separate from the main building and is commonly referred to as the "Pavilion."
Crump said that the license for live entertainment is mostly for "golf outings that may call for entertainment, but it will not be a daily occurrence."
Crump said that though the golf course is scheduled to open, the restaurant would need some more time before work is complete.
