BMW Girls Ice Hockey wins first game of the season
The Bourne-Mashpee-Wareham (BMW) Girls Ice Hockey team started the season with a dramatic 5-4 win against Sandwich JV on Saturday, Dec. 10.
The team found itself down 3-0 in the first period of the season opener, before Natalia Gordon scored early in the second period. Sandwich's Lady Knights scored again to make it a 4-1 game, but BMW came back with two goals from Tess MacDonald and another from Kate Albretson, which tied the game in the third period.
BMW goalie Ariel St. Germaine, along with defensemen Brittney St. Germaine, Shayna Santiago, Emily Humfryes, and Gordon, held Sandwich scoreless for the remainder. BMW captain Elizabeth St. Germaine scored the winning goal.
Nicole Anthony, Dylan Innis, and Anna Richard provided support during the game on the wing, while Cassidy Cincotta, Brandi Masse, Lydia Boncek, Monica Conway, and Emily Gregoire also contributed to the win.
