A Boston man was arrested in Wareham on Tuesday, December 11, after a failed attempt to pass a fraudulent check at the Mac Express store in Wareham Crossing.

Robert Noble, 41, of 585 Massachusetts Avenue in Boston, tried to buy $6,162 worth of merchandise with the bogus check, according to police. He is charged with uttering a false check and attempting to commit a crime.

Noble was arrested without any problems and arraigned at Wareham District Court on Dec. 12, police said.

The Wareham Police Department was tipped off by an anonymous source, who told them Noble would be attempting to execute his swindle at the store at some point that night.
