Buzzards Bay Coalition ride celebrates 20 years

To commemorate the 20th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride, the Buzzards Bay Coalition is offering “20 for 20,” a 20-mile route for the first time.

The ride takes place Sunday, Oct. 4 and features 100-, 41-, and 20-mile route options. The trek ride winds through farmland, villages, cityscapes, cranberry bogs, and coastal country backroads, and ends in a rollicking post-ride party in Woods Hole overlooking Buzzards Bay.

Funds raised will go to the coalition’s work to protect and restore clean water in Buzzards Bay and its surrounding lands.

The 20-mile option was devised to give a shorter route for those not comfortable with the previously shortest 41-mile option.

Riders on that route will commence from the Bourne Intermediate School on Trowbridge Road and will not have to cross the Bourne Bridge.

The ride is a fully supported event with rest stops and lunch, mechanical support along the route, a SAG wagon, optional pre- or post-event shuttle service for riders and their bikes and a celebration at the finish line.
