For three years, the Wareham Oyster Festival has been a week of food, fun, and educational programs highlighting the town’s role in the seafood industry. This year’s event culminates with a festival on Main Street on May 28.

New this year, the Cape Cod Canal Region Chamber of Commerce will join in the fun, hosting a gala fundraiser. The gala will be held Thursday, May 25 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Rosebrook Event Center in Rosebrook Place.

It will feature a raw oyster bar featuring shellfish from Indian Cove Aquaculture, a Wareham shellfish farmer, and samples of wine from Westport Rivers Vineyard.  Other food choices and a cash bar will be available.  Suggested dress is “nautical chic.” Attendees are encouraged to bring cash for a silent auction.
