Cape Cod Five nominated as business of the year
The Cape Cod Region Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award will be presented to Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank at the Chamber's annual breakfast meeting and award ceremony on Wednesday, Jan. 21.
Cape Cod Five, Barnstable County’s largest bank, was founded in 1855. The Bank’s first branch located in this area opened in Sandwich in 2005.
In 2011, the Bank opened a loan production office in Marion. Based on the positive feedback from that office, the Bank opened a banking center in Wareham in the summer of 2014.
The bank offers a full range of financial services, including personal and business banking, residential and commercial lending, as well as wealth management and investment services.
Cape Cod Five has also been actively involved in charitable efforts in the Canal region for many years. Last year the Bank conducted its first “Credit for Life” fair at Wareham High School, similar to the fairs the Bank has conducted at Sandwich High School and at Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in prior years.
Additionally the bank has supported many area nonprofits and events such as the Scallop Fest, The Gleason Family YMCA, the Wareham School District, and the Onset-Wareham Fireworks, to name just a few.
The breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m. at The Brookside Club, 11 Brigadoon Road in Bourne. Dorothy Savarese, chairman, president and chief executive officer of The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank, is the guest speaker at this year’s event.
Advance reservations are required: $30 per person or $210 for a table of eight. The event has sold out the past 7 years. RSVP at www.capecodcanalchamber.org by Jan. 16 or contact Adele at 508-759-6000 X10.
