Visit the Dudley L. Brown VFW in Onset on Saturday, August 25, for a picnic featuring Jamaican music, Caribbean food, and tropical beverages — all to raise funds for a scholarship in memory of Ruthie Gomes Semedo.

The event will take place from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Mentos & The New Horizon will perform.

Semedo passed away from cancer at age 43. The scholarship will be awarded to a Wareham student in the class of 2013.
