Jun 15, 2026
Carol Angel Mirabito, 86, passed away on June 13, 2026 in Buzzards Bay, MA. Born on July 21, 1939, in Malden, she graduated from Malden High School and spent the first half of her life on the North Shore of Boston, making life-long friends in Revere before moving to Milton. As a steadfast single mother in her early forties, she sold her wedding ring to fund her college education and earned degrees in both medical records and nursing. She embarked on a fulfilling career at the Harvard Risk Management Foundation in Cambridge before retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren.
Carol was a beacon of joy and warmth, and her love for her family was profound. An animal lover, Carol was happiest with a dog at her side. She loved walks on the beach looking for “treasures,” and she was an expert in spotting faces and animals in every puffy cloud. Carol had a constant, contagious smile and loved singing and dancing, bringing light and happiness wherever she went.
Carol was a devout attendee of St. Patrick's Church in Wareham, where she enjoyed socializing with her friends in the front pews before the Saturday 4pm mass. She spent the last five years being especially well-cared for in the Memory Care Unit of Keystone Place in Buzzards Bay, and the staff and residents became her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Camille Hyde and her husband Paul of Marion, and Laura Mirabito of Mattapoisett; daughter-in-law Paula Mirabito of Wellesley; grandchildren, Robert Hyde and his wife Gina of Tewksbury, Emily Henderson and her husband Kyle of Plymouth, and Carly and Serena O'Connell of Mattapoisett; and great-grandchildren, Vincent Hyde and Sophie Henderson. Carol was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Iula, and son, Frank Mirabito.
Carol's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and love for those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A visiting hour will take place on Friday, June 19th from 8:30AM-9:30AM at Chapman Funerals & Cremations - Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Rt. 28. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00AM at St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham - 82 High Street. Burial to immediately follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley - 148 Brook St Wellesley, MA 02482.
