Cars, bikes, and wrestling on display during Onset's Fender Bender

Jul 19, 2013

The 3rd annual Fender Bender car and bike show hits Onset Village on Saturday, July 27, at 11 a.m.

The event, which combines cars from many decades with loud bikes on display, also features a handful of professional wrestlers who will perform and sign autographs.

"I urge people to get there early for parking reasons," notes Roger Chouinard of Sinners and Saints Tattoo, who organizes the yearly event with Nicole Miceli of Salerno's. "There's going to be a lot of stars."

On the docket this year are Maria Kanellis, wrestler and model, as well as Spike Dudley, "Prodigy" Mike Bennett, Danny Davis, The Wing Men, and John Cena Sr.

Meet the stars for autographs and photos from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The wrestling show takes place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Everything takes place at Prospect Park in the area of the Onset Band Shell.

Chouinard stresses that all cars and bikes are welcome at the Fender Bender: "Old, broken, and new."

Car registration takes place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., but Chouinard asks that anyone planning to show a vehicle get there earlier rather than later.

There will be trophies awarded in 10 classes, with the overall winner of the show awarded a photo shoot courtesy of Ronin Photographics.

More than 50 vendors selling a variety of wares and food will be on hand. Fender Bender T-shirts will be available.

Chouinard will be signing copies of his book, The Story of Bobby Chouinard "Drummer Extraordinaire," written in memory of his late uncle.

"Sinners and Saints thanks everybody who has come to the event in the past," Chouinard says, "and we look forward to seeing you on July 27.

In addition to Sinners and Saints, the event is sponsored by Marc Anthony's Pizzeria, Total Auto Concepts, Chuck's Auto, Rays of New Bedford, Ocean Graphics, Overboard Entertainment, and Lucky 13 Productions.

"This show will always be sponsored by locally-owned shops," Chouinard said in thanking the people who helped make this year's event a reality.

The Fender Bender will be held rain or shine. For more information, visit www.sinnersandsaintstattoo.com or call 508-295-1366.
