Charles M. Nugent, 68, of Onset, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Tobey Hospital, after a lengthily illness. He was the beloved husband of Lu Ann Beach Nugent, father of Jessica A. Nugent of Marlboro, and stepson Sean R. Allen & family of Great Barrington. He was the son of the late Edward Nugent and Alice (Davis) Nugent.

Charlie attended schools and graduated from Framingham High School. He was a Navy veteran and served with Company 328 on the USS WASP. He worked at C.P. Bourg of New Bedford as a Technical/Customer Support Specialist prior to becoming an Outside Property Contents Claims Adjuster at Travelers Insurance in Middleboro. He loved the company of his dogs, Captain and Tennille.

He is survived by his brothers and their wives: Richard and Charlotte Nugent, of Falmouth, and Edward and Lucy Nugent, of Bellingham. Nieces and nephews Richard Nugent, Jr., of Charlton, Denise Beaulieu, of Sutton, Craig Nugent, of Blackstone, Peter Nugent, of Natick, and Daniel Nugent, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Charlie is also survived by his sisters and brothers in laws: Connie and James Frederick, of Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, Karen and William Leblanc, of Harwich Port, Kenda Beach and Kathleen Cromwell, of Sumter, South Carolina, Brenda and Gregory King, of Palmyra, Pennsylvania, and their families.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors of Tobey Hospital ICU, Charlton Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, The Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care and the exceptional visiting nurses and therapists from the Southcoast VNA for their loving care and support.
