The Claus family at the Crossing
As Christmas approaches rapidly and last minute shopping nears its deadline, stress runs high.
Santa and Mrs. Claus came all the way from the North Pole to Wareham Crossing to remind shoppers that Christmas means kindness.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus were enjoying the “tropics of Wareham,” as Santa described in contrast to the weather of his own. He and the Mrs. visited the bustling shoppers of the plaza from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays during the two weeks prior to Christmas.
The cheerful couple could be found outside the shops posing for pictures and engaging in friendly conversation with all who passed by.
Mrs. Claus shared that it makes her day to be in the presence of the people of Wareham.
“We’re having a great time. It’s a ball,” she said, “I love it. Everyone’s so happy to see us, I get to hold the babies, and it’s so sweet when kids come right up and hug us.”
“There’s a lot of joy in seeing a child smile,” Santa elaborated, “and all the children we have met here are so polite and kind.”
Apart from welcoming along the walkways, the Mr. and Mrs. Claus made an appearance in each restaurant at the Crossing, taking the initiative to greet the people at every table. They also recently attended the Wareham Crossing tree lighting and Target’s Stuff a Cruiser fundraiser for Toys for Tots.
The Clauses cherished the time they spent at Wareham Crossing this year. Santa “enjoyed all the wonderful children of Wareham,” and is eager to give them their gifts.
“This is a great town to visit,” said Mrs. Claus. “It’s a great shopping mall and we look forward to returning next year.”
