Couple flees after trespassing a boat in Onset

Aug 19, 2019

Wareham Police are searching for a man and woman after they boarded a boat at Onset Pier before fleeing when they realized the owners were on the boat.

The Wareham Department of Natural Resources reported that at approximately 2:10 a.m. on August 15, an occupied vessel was tied to the dock at the Onset Pier when two individuals, described by the boat owners as a male and female, boarded the vessel and tried to enter the cabin.

The two trespassers were startled by the owners being on board. The male trespasser jumped from the boat and ran up the dock, leaving “the female trespasser in the dust to fend for herself,” according to the Department.

The Wareham Department of Natural Resources officers said if anyone recognizes the suspects in the photo of surveillance video, they would like to speak with them. The man and woman’s faces are blurred in the video and pictures because they were running so fast, but the clothing is fairly clear in the images.

Those with any information can call the WDNR main office at 508-291-3100, extension 3180, message the DNR on Facebook, or use the Wareham Police Department Text-A-Tip.
