Apr 25, 2010

Burtis Parcels, 64, of Centerville was killed in a one-vehicle rollover on Route 195 eastbound Saturday afternoon, according to State Police.

The police responded to reports of a vehicle rollover at 3:37 p.m.  Investigations by Trooper Mark Cohen indicate that the vehicle, a 2003 Toyota Tundra,  struck the guardrail on the right-hand side of the road after veering off the right shoulder and attempting to steer back on to the road. The vehicle subsequently rolled over and came to rest in the right travel lane with the lone male occupant trapped inside.

Parcels was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, and responding EMS personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.

All travel lanes were closed for approximately one hour while the investigation was completed.
