Dave Randolph Lima, 64

ONSET – Dave Randolph Lima, 64, of Onset died April 18, 2014 in Tobey Hospital, Wareham. He was the husband of Helen E. (Hodgkinson) Lima. They were married for 41 years. He was the son of the late Daniel Fortes and Doris (Almeida) Lima.

 

Born in Wareham, Mr. Lima lived in Onset all of his life. He graduated from Wareham High School.  He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and United States Marine Corps. He also served in the National Guard as an MP.

 

Mr. Lima worked as a Union Laborer for Local 385 for many years before retiring.

 

He was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, listening to Motown music, dancing, and walking.  He loved his home on Bertino Street, classic 50’s T-Birds, and his two cats, Tigger and Runt Runt.

 

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Helen E. (Hodgkinson) Lima; three daughters, Elizabeth H. Bond and Stephen Puccio of Swansea, Marguarite K. Houle and her husband Scott of Hyannis and Mandy Lima Melendez and Eric Martin of Wareham; a brother, Paul Fernandes of Wareham; a sister, Dorothea White of Danbury, CT; his aunt, Beryl Gomes of Onset; eight grandchildren, Scott, Stephen, Sayre-Elizabeth, Shane, Brian, Isabella, Slade and Stormy; many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was the brother of the late Daniel, Richard and Don Lima and Carol-Lee Pina.

 

His funeral will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 in the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

 

Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
