Donald E. Hixson, 87

BUZZARDS BAY – Donald E. Hixson, 87, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of Walpole died Sunday, July 19, 2026 at his home.  He was the husband of Evelyn A. (Meau) Hixson.

Born in East Walpole, he was the son of the late Edwin L. and Clara Mae (Walton) Hixson.  A graduate of Norwood High School, Don worked as a machinist for Ingersoll-Rand in Walpole for many years.  A longtime resident of Walpole, he moved to Buzzards Bay in 1999.

Don was an all-around handyman and never paid anyone to fix anything.  He also enjoyed model shipbuilding.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn of Buzzards Bay; his children, Donald “Eddie” Hixson, II and his wife Marie, of New Hampton, NH, Pamela DiTomasso and her late husband Lorenzo of Buzzards Bay, Rand A. Hixson of Wareham, and Frederick Hixson and his wife Keri of Wrentham. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  He was predeceased by his siblings, the late Arthur Hixson and Marian Driscoll.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
