Donald Savino, 81, of Swifts Beach, passed away Sept. 1 in New Bedford. Donald was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Eva (Shaer) and Oreste A. Savino. He attended New Bedford Public Schools and was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed bird watching, kayaking, and cross-country skiing. He was a member of the Appalachian Mountain Club, the Local 3 Bricklayers Union, and the Evangelical Zion Church in West Wareham.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia (Tagliolato) Savino of New Bedford, formerly of Vicenza, Italy, and his sons: Richard C. and Vincent J. Savino of Bristol, Rhode Island and New Bedford. He was the brother of Rosalind Rogers of New Bedford and Barbara King of Rochester. He was the grandfather of Aneshia C., Anthony J., and Abishai J. Savino. He is also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. at Evangelical Zion Church 2239 Cranberry Highway in West Wareham. Relatives and friends are cordially welcome to attend.
