Doris C. Thompson, 91, waitress, member of Red Hat Society
Doris C. (Clifford) Thompson, 91, of East Wareham died January 19 at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Ralph A. Thompson.
Born in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Deborah (Sullivan) Clifford. A graduate of Watertown High School, Mrs. Thompson worked as a waitress at the Pillar House in Newton and the Blinstrub’s in Boston.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Bourne Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by her daughter in-law, Diana Thompson, wife of the late Ralph Thompson of East Wareham, sister-in-law Beverly Horan of Billerica, grandchildren Michele Traver and Kevin Thompson both of Wareham; great-grandchildren Lily, Shane, and Ariana Traver, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Paul Clifford and Richard Horan and her sisters, the late Eleanor Mooney and Margaret McGuirk.
Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28), Wareham on Tuesday, January 24 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
